Replaced Heads on 7000- One side still no nozzle

Replaced Heads on 7000- One side still no nozzle

2005-01-27 by john dean

Hello Anyone,

I refurbished the Epson 7000 I have after converting to Piezzotones.

I replaced both heads, all dampers, the capping assembly, and the pump assembly.

The original head that I was having the trouble with now prints with perfect nozzle check, (
yes! ) but the right head, called the light head, will show no nozzle pattern at all.

I thought it possible that the new head I orderd was bad, but no such luck, I ordered
another one and it is doing exactly the same thing. Nothing at all showing on the nozzle
check.

I did initialize both heads correctly, set the capping station, made sure the head was level
and seated properly on the capping station, just like the other head and in the same
position but no luck.

I have done the deep cleaning twice with this new head and the inital fill twice. The ink was
flowing exactly the same on both heads down below in the overflow pads through those
bottom hoses. I just can't figure it out. The manual doesn't help me beyond where I am.

Does anyone have any idea what else to try? There is plenty of ink in there but now I am
wasting it. This has strung out way, way , too long even for me.

John

Did you try putting the "bad head" in the other position to see if it
works? It could be the head board for that side fried.

That is a possible test. Since I've bought 3 head already I'm reluctant to move the head
around that actually does work. They are easy to wreck.

It is also possible that the fuse on that board is burned out. As for the whole board being
fried, I would think that I would have smelled it if that had happened, possibly not.

How difficult is it to replace one of the fuses or head boards, and how much are they?
