Digital BW, The Print

I have seen lots of people talking about QTRLab and using it in conjunction with Photoshop.

What exactly is it and how does it work?

Up until now I have simply Channel mixed my Photoshop Images and printed them from there.

If my technique can be improved I am eager to learn.

QTR Lab is an RGB workspace profile used with QuadTone RIP.

QuadTone RIP:
Shareware Mac and PC RIP for printing grayscale images with any ink
set on most Epson printers. Works under OS X and XP.
