Has anyone even tried this paper with Ultrachrome or Mis inksets? The pigments probably 
can't penetrate huh?

Lyson Darkroom Gloss from Lyson.com :

With the texture and appearance  of a traditional fibre based photographic paper with a 
unique  highly lightfast inkjet coating. An amazing colour range  can be achieved with this 
paper. The only paper on the market  which gives the look and feel of a traditional fibre 
based  Silver print. 
Gloss finish.
320gsm, A3, A3+ and A4, 50 sheet packs, up to 2880dpi.
Also available in all common US sizes.
For use with dye based ink only.

yep! you got it.

the dyes don't either: if the surface gets a drop of water, all the ink under the
drop lifts.

Too bad....   such nice paper.

Yes, I tried some of the Lyson Darkroom Gloss and Matte papers with 
Epson UC inks.  Not recommended.  The pigments don't penetrate and 
prints will not dry properly - they look reticulated.  Beautiful, deep 
blacks with Lyson QB but as you know also bad metamerism.
