Hi all, I am just a simple B&W fans, and I need a little help from you guys to set up configuration on the GUI to fit with Epson Premium Luster paper. (Such as curves, Blend percentage, ink limit, gamma adjustment, etc) Instead of playing around and wasting paper&ink, I prefer to follow your advice and start from there. rgds, Tim

Tim, there is another thread a few days back discussing the tutorial document written by Tom Moore, it provides the current state of how to go about this task. Its based on the original documentation provided with the mac version, with input from Roy Harrington. Reading that will give you the information that you will need to accomplish this task: http://download.petraflux.com/qtrtutorial.zip --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "timothygerald" <timothygerald@y...> wrote:

Thanks for the tutorial info, I'll take time to read it. Actually what I wish was, if there is somebody who has been printing with epson 7600 UC + Premium Luster Paper to give me his/her setting on the GUI to get the right B&W print. I haven't use other paper than Premium Luster (at least for the last 2 years), hence I was looking for kind of guidance. I use PC with Window XP Pro. rgds, Tim --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "bobbogee2000" <bobbogee2000@y...> wrote: > > Tim, there is another thread a few days back discussing the tutorial > document written by Tom Moore, it provides the current state of how to > go about this task. Tim, I find the profiles for the Ilford Smooth (don't have the profile names here at work sorry) paper works quite nicely on Premium Luster on the 2200 with Ultra Chrome. Prints match my profiled monitor without any other tweeking. (convert to GrayMatte space before save to tif) Great shadow detail. CoolSE 45 Warm 55 is a nice neutral, but I prefer the warm curve alone for most of my work. Good luck! Guy, It's okay, at least I got your guidance to start with QTR GUI. Today, I have printed couple of image, one was no contrast with a little bit brownie, and the other quite neutral but cold. I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks again for helping. rgds, Tim guy washburn <guido02474@...> wrote: Tim, I am loosing my mind. Read an advert on a paper and I think I am using it already! sheesh...
