R200 and QTR ?

R200 and QTR ?

2005-02-17 by andywebsterus

OK, I know the R200 is not supported in QTR. I use Epson OEM inks in
mine. Do any of the profiles/curves written for other Epson printers
within QTR come anywhere near what an R200 might understand?

With the curves creation feature I could spend many happy hours and
loads of paper trying to adjust one to fit. That way I may even avoid
actually taking any photographs for quite a while... I somewtimes
think the most useful addition to my photographic endeavor would be a
meter on my monitor displaying "Elapsed Time Since Last Exposure".
I'm only half joking.

I am serious about the R200 "curves" though.... any help out there?

Many thanks
Andy

If QTR does not support the R200 having curves isn't going to help you - you
still can't print.

Andy,

The R200 is supported by IJC/OPM for Windows. Not sure about the Mac
version. They don't have a tone of profiles for it yet, but you can
check it out at www.bowhaus.com. They have not updated their website
to show the R200, but their latest download (which requires a
password) does show the R200 as one of their supported printers.

Hi Lou,

Sounds interesting. What's the password thing? Do you have to buy it
before you try it?

Andy
BTW I've found QTR WILL drive a 200 if you tell it to treat it as an 890.
It prints black only and you can alter the curves in the same way you
would with a supported printer. It's just that BO is grainy.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for that.. In fact it will print if you tell it that the printer is
an 890, presumably because the control codes have a lot in common, but
that's in BO - which is very dotty!

Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

The password is for people who have already purchased the program. I
know Bowhaus is considering a demo version, but you would need to
contact them to find out if they are offering it.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
