QTR and Epson 2200 with Mac OS X - slow print

QTR and Epson 2200 with Mac OS X - slow print

2005-02-22 by yanceyiv

Hi all

I am slowly migrating to a Mac from Win XP. When I print an 8x10
from the Mac it seems to be about 5x slower than the PC. Is this
normal or do I possibly have something installed incorrectly? Using
USB.

BTW - I have to admit if it is slower, I will learn to live with it
because it sure seems to be much better.

I've never heard claims of any significant difference in printing
speeds (Mac vs Win); does your problem extend to printing color from
PS--or just for B&W printing (using other software)...?

For an answer to that question you'd have to tell us more--like what
is the actual printing time for an 8x10 and what driver settings (is
"Hi Speed" mode on/off, etc.?). What is your OS X version (10.2x,
10.3x ?) and how much RAM...

Sorry for the lack of info. I guess I was trying to get a general idea if the Mac platform was
typically slower printing than the PC platform. As I said, the quality seems better to me, so
it will surely be worth the wait if it is.

Here is my current config: OS X 10.3.8, 1 GB memory, 1.67 ghz processor. Printing of an
8x10 seems to take about 8-9 minutes. On the PC it was taking about 3-4 min for the
same picture. High speed set to Faster, Resolution 1440 Super.

Thanks

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
