Adrian,

I'm glad you're system is now up and running well.

The only prints (series of test strips with each curve) I've seen that
compared XP with 98 were done with the 1270. On that outfit, there was no
visible difference between the prints made with the two OS's.

However, perhaps different printers will react differently. Hopefully
people on this list will alert us to differences when they are found.

I response to my recent questions about Piezo inconsistencies, one poster
noted that the CIS seems to be a major part of the problem -- at least with
Piezo. I tend not to use CIS's just because all of my ink experimenting is
easier with cartridges. So many people have used CIS's successfully for
extended periods with the color pigments that I'd be surprised if CIS's are
inherently problematic with all inks. However, with the co-solvent based
inks (the smelly ones) I'm suspicious that there is more evaporation than
with the normal pigments. Then, if the CIS is loose-fitting there might be
some impact due to evaporations around those fittings. That could explain
why my Piezo outfit got so much darker after sitting for a long while. But,
I'm no expert on this.
