Glop on Ilford Smooth Pearl?

Glop on Ilford Smooth Pearl?

2005-02-27 by Jon Witsell

I've been fighting my way throught the archives and have been
intrigued by some of the
discussion on glop. I'm using a 2200/MIS UTs/IJC-OPM.

I was thinking of getting a virgin cart (LK position) and some bulk
glop. Does it take long
to clear out the remaining ink in the 2200's heads? Any suggestions
percentage-wise for
an overcoat on ISP?

Also, I'm putting together a post-bound album using the ISP
pre-mounted boards and I'd
like to add some smudge/scuff resistance. I remember a few posts
discussing waxing
(Renaissance?). Can someone make some suggestions? Would glop and wax
make a good
mix for better dmax and scuff resistance?

Thanks for the help,

Jon

About 3 head cleans and printing a few pages of straight glop. 50% overcoat
with QTR so probably the same. Wax is a pain in the butt - works if you
have the energy to get a decent even polish,

Ok, that doesn't sound too painful.

Hmm, that is interesting. I hope to add some durability to the album pages and that
seemed like one way. I guess I'll just have to give it a shot.

Any other ways of adding print protection? I have some of the Premier spray and some
Lauscaux on the way, but I don't know how much protection they will add.

Thanks for the info,

Jon

Use Lascaux on matte paper. I don't like Premier Spray or at least the next
closest thing available here, Lyson Print Guard. I find it reacts horribly
with glop almost to the point of small blisters.

anybody want a fresh 1160?

2005-02-27 by hill14701

I'm replacing my various printers with one machine, so let me know off list if you would
like my 1160 that was recently (one set of carts) overhauled at Ardito's.

I'll include all the refilling supplies that you can use with this machine, as well as a partial
bulk set of MIS Glossy PIgment inks with Eboni black. I also include a set of quad bulk
inks that are tinted red, derived from epson 9500 stock.

I'll pay shipping via FedEx Ground, and am asking $90 via Paypal. Contact me at hill14701

Hi Steve,

Well, since the Smooth Pearl board is going into a book, I think the wax will be best. I think
I'll drop by Talas tomorrow and get a can of it. Good exercise anyway.

I've been using the Premier spray since it first came out, but I'm not wild about the fumes.
And since it is snowing outside, I'm not going to be working out there...
