1160-VM and UT-FS-Eboni on both matte and glossy papers

Hello folks, I was in the process of creating QTR curves for Kirkland glossy papers for the 1160/MIS-VM and 1160/MIS-UT-FS-Eboni combination and found the darkest patches for the dark gray ink (cyan position) register at 1.86 and 2.06 in dMax respectively. I was going to spray the paper so I could use matte black ink but after finding such high dmax in the cyan position alone I thought maybe I could create curves without using black ink at all. So I did and got beautiful 2.06 dmax prints on Kirkland Glossy with only inks in the cyan, magenta, and yellow position for the UT-FS ink set. For the MIS-VM without black I thought 1.86 is pretty good but I'd need an additional coat of spray to bring it up to the 2.06 dmax. This is fantastic because my 4-ink printers now can print on either matte or glossy media using a single inkset. This shows amazing possibilities can be achieved with 6, 7, or 8 ink printers. --nick
