Not really. Say you're ripping an Epson 4000 image, 16x24 inch. At 1440dpi, that's 16*1440*24*1440 = 796,262,400 pixels. Each of these needs a value for 7 different inks (even if some aren't used, they still go to the printer as "off") and each ink has five states. So each pixel "fits" in 3 bytes...
That means you're at 2.38 gigs per image. If you burnt that to DVD, it might work. Maybe. But I've never heard of anyone trying.
And if you try to pull a 44x66 off that Epson 10000, you need 18 gigabytes. You can't get it from here to there...
The three best possabilities:
1) show him some QTR prints from a smaller machine (do yu have an Epson 2200) and teach him the joys of QTR. He might want to start offering QTR prints.
2) Find out if you can go in with a laptop and plug into his printers.
3) Find out if he's using another RIP, like Onyx or ImagePrint. If so, find out how good he is at making monochrome images on that RIP.

That's because there's no way, in PDF, to represent raw data going to a printer.

Yes, I do that all the time. But the printer has to be local to you. You have to keep changing the image placement manually through QTRgui.

That's been described several times on this site. You'll have to search.
