Can this be done with the QTR?

Can this be done with the QTR?

2005-04-14 by SteveZ

I have a sepia image I wanted to print with the QTR, can this be
done? When I convert the profile to gray matte, the image turns black
and white. The other option is to print it out the image using a warm
curve which I've tried but it doesn't look very pleasing.

There are sepia curves too. So put a cold (or even warm) curve in the first position and the
sepia one in the second position and try different mix %'s.

Though I'm not sure how well they match a darkroom sepia which is what I presume you
are referring to.

Also on the QTR group we are in the midst of a discussion on editing curves to get the
color that you want, very cold black in my case.

Do you mean the entire B&W image is "sepia,"...all sepia, no black,
like extremely faded old photos?

Or do you want a conventional sepia-toned B&W with real black and
sepia-toned greys on white? Or something else?

If you want photographic sepia-toned B&W (with real black) it's easy
as pie with QTRgui... precisely matching your original if you choose
the right paper.

If you don't want any black, just something in a sepia/brown/yellow
range on white paper of your choice, you should be able to match
precisely, by eye and test-printing, using standard Epson printer driver.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
