Digital BW, The Print

Awhile ago I saw some questions posed here regarding refilling MIS 
carts without removing them from the printer. I decided to try 
refilling a cartridge in the printer, before it was completely empty 
(when the exclamation point appeared in the level indicator for that 
cartridge).  I removed the plug (the small ice-pick like device in a 
miniature screwdriver set works well for this) and injected about 9ml 
of ink and re-inserted the plug.  The printer then worked fine, but
the 
ink level indicator continued to show the exclamation point (low ink) 
for that cartridge.  So ultimately I did have to remove the cartridge 
and reset the chip. Did not have to prime the cartridge, however. 
Just 
my experience for anyone else who has the same idea . . .
