Digital BW, The Print

I'm using a C86 with MIS carts, I've printed a few 5X7's and had some 
ink splotches on the boarder.  Can this be fixed, and what could the 
problem be?  Jeff

I don't know specifically about that printer, but in general splotches are
caused by paper fuzz, or even a bit of hair, stuck to the underside of the
print head, dragging a blob of ink from the head cleaning station across the
paper. There are some tricks for cleaning the underside of the print head,
involving a paper towel strip along the platen wet with ammoniated window
cleaner. Search the EPSON_Printers group archives for "Windex". Or search
this group--it may have been detailed here as well at some point.
