I've had the 4000 for 6 months now. I print b/w all
the time using the ultrachrome inks on hphoto ragvia
qtr.

I use the machine about twice a week (it's a hobby not
a business). i've had no clogs or banding at all...
just the occasional paper misfeed problem that I've
learned to live with. I'm really happy with this
set-up

between

look at a print
printed with such configuration (I mean on a 4000 or
2200/2100 with
QTR).

My previous configuration (what a hassle!) was an
Epson 1160 with MIS
FSN, piezography plug in and permanent banding, cloggs
and so one... As
a result I've stopped printing for more than one year.

Do you think I am on the good way with the combination
of a 4000
together with QTR and that I will be able to print
A3/A2 pics with the
same quality as the ones I've painfully obtained with
the Epson 1160
and the MIS inks (when it worked)?

Thank you for your help in getting me convinced that I
am not again
making a stupid decision with at the end, a big
frustration, because my
goal is to print pictures that I love and not to
become a printer
guru...

Hi Marc

I jumped from 1290/Piezography to the 4000/QTR. (I still use the 1290 and
get excellent results, but 4000/QTR is to my mind 99% as good)

It also has the advantages of what appears to be a robust and well made
machine, it is very fast compared to the 1290, it prints 42cm wide, and it
will also do colour

I'd recommend it (Price in Switzerland was about CHF3000 (EUR1900)

Cheers

Richard
