I use Vuescan with my Epson 4870. b&w neg setting
works just fine. Great sharpness and tonal range.
Lot's of shadow detail. For 35mm it beats what I used
to get with a Poloroid Sprintscan 4000. I use the
Epson 35mm holders and Doug's MF holder for 6x7.

Hello Guy

I thank you for replying.
So you are using b&w neg film ?
Can you tell me about the Epson 120 film holder and why are you using Doug's film holder.
Who is Doug ?

Regards from John

Hi John,

Yes I use b&w film most of the time (100% in medium
format).

The Epson 120 holder does not keep the film very flat
so sharpness suffers.

Doug Fisher's holder works wonders. Here is a review:
http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Epson%204870/DF_holder/MF.htm

and here is Doug's site:
http://home.earthlink.net/~dougfisher/holder/mfholder.html

Good luck!
