Hi Dona...

Thanks for the additional info. You will get lots of different answers from
this group. Add all the answers up and you'll have a 'right answer' :-).

My workflow includes:
Nikon D70 and Coolpix 4500
One Epson 1280 (a 2 or 3 generation old, but still available printer that
prints to 13" wide) with an MIS CFS system and MIS color pigmented inks.
One Epson 1280 with an MIS CFS system and MIS UT2 black and grey inks.
A relatively decent PC (2.8 GHz, 1 gig RAM, 2 monitors, and a network that
includes a machine for archive and backup).
Photoshop CS with the RAW converter.
Photokit Sharpener and other stuff.
I print on RedRiver Polar Matt.

I might add that MIS has new spongeless see-thru cartridges available. Had
they been available when I set my printers up I think I would not have gone
CIS, but rather refillable spongeless carts. Nothing wrong with the CIS.
Just that the CIS is less flexible in terms of experimentation, etc.

Welcome to the digital age...and remember that what you see today you won't
see tomorrow. Things are changing very fast. Be prepared for a wild and
fun ride.

Hi Jim!

Thank you so much for your response. I am heading toward photo
journalistic style b&w pictures of babies, pets, families and
weddings. I would like to work in at least 8X10 or 11X14 or larger :)
I use a Nikon D70 camera at the moment and have Photoshop CS.

Dona
