OK a rather simple question. I am getting to my wits end with MIS inks/cartridges. I don't
think the issue is so much the ink "clogging" but the cartridges allowing air into the area
around the spring valve over time if the printer is not used for a day or so. Before I
completely write off MIS I would like to try another brand of refillable cartridges - if one
exists.
I have just read the MIS page about their new foamless cartridges. Can
anyone comment on whether these are better than the old ones? Also does
anyone know when they will be available for the 21/2200?
BTW I just hacked an Epson cartridge to pieces (pick your desired hand
colour before doing so - or wear gloves!). No foam. But more importantly
there is a really rather intricate system for containing the ink and
"winding" it down to the outlet area. There is also no obvious air intake
hole. The poppet valve is also much more solid than the MIS cartridge.

Just a thought, but what about using real Epson carts. Couldn't you
use the bottom fill adapter to refill them? Another benefit would be
that the driver will no longer nag you about using non Epson carts.

It's possible, but not at all simple.
Here's a very detailed analysis of the 2200 cartridge and a method for
refilling it:

But not by much. I find that the search gets stuck with trying to match
exact words, not words containing, so sometimes the search doesn't work
well for many people.
