Does QTR have to be removed in Print center to run Epson drivers?

Does QTR have to be removed in Print center to run Epson drivers?

2005-05-09 by davelongviews

I have a 9600 on Mac OS X, and it appears I have to remove the QTR printer in Print center
to avooid massage "command error" over on the printer with resulting inability to print. I'd
of course like to alternate between the two without reinstalling/removing QTR. Am I
missing something? Your help is very much appreciated. I am a newbie with QTR....

You should not have to remove QTR. It is best to define the Epson printers
first (make sure you are using the Epson driver and not Gimp) and then add
QTR.

Color Settings questions

2005-05-09 by Peter De Smidt

I'm using MIS EZ inks in a C86 with Paul's recommended Epson driver
settings, and I'm trying to match Paul's color settings. Question 1: how
do I check what the embedded profiles are when I'm ready to print? (Paul
says, "When printing, see that no other profiles are embedded in the file.)

Questions 2: Are the following Color Settings correct?

Working space:
RGB: Adobe RGB (1998)
CMYK: Photoshop 5 Default CMYK
Gray: Gray Gamma 2.2
Spot: Dot Gain 20%

Color Management Policies
RGB: Preserve Embedded Profiles
CMYK: Preserve Embedded Profiles
Gray: Preserve Embeeded profiles.

Conversion Options: (Although I don't think these will do anything
because of my color management policies. Is this correct?)
Engine Adobe (ACE)
Intent: Relative Colorimetric.
Use Black Point Compensation and Use Dither Checked.

TIA,
Peter

I don't have to: Quad 4000 and the Epson drivers coexist happily (4000 on Mac G5 OS
10.3.9)
