C86 and UT inks

C86 and UT inks

2005-05-14 by ptrsnnn

Does anyone in the group live in Sydney?

If so have they been able to buy an Epson C86 plus Ultratone inks here?
If not then do you order the inks from MIS on line? How long do you
wait for them?

I have trawled various sites but it sems as though the C86 hasn't
arrived here yet.......hope that I am wrong and someone can point me
in the right direction.

I am using a Canon i950 and use most of the ink (hugely expensive) in
cleaning operations....also cannot get a decent black.

Thanks....Ann

Hi Ann

I live in Sydney and had the same query as you, as far as I know the Epson C86 was never
released in Australia and it being an older printer probably won't be. Here in Australia we
use different model numbers, for example the C83 in Australia is the same as the C84
which can be used with MIS EZ inks. These printer's are discontinued in Australia.

I was able to pick up a C83 printer (C84 on MIS website) from Megamart at Auburn but I'm
sure I bought the last one (only $110). Computer World at Auburn
(http://www.cworld.com.au/) has the C83 listed for $145, I don't know If they have any in
stock.

Read message number 58406 and the replies for futher information on the C84 and C86
printers for Australians.

Regarding ordering from MIS. I just recently ordered some EZ catridges and some paper
from MIS and the process was very simple and straightforward when using a credit card.
The delivery did take about two and half weeks only because an item was out of stock.
After pressing the order button I recieved confirmation within a day and was emailed
when the delivery was sent . With other payment methods for example international
money order it's a little bit more complicated. In my opinion MIS is a professionally run
company with good service for international customers

I still havent started using the MIS ink's yet so I can't offer an opinion as I am using up
some old paper and epson inks before starting from with the new stuf but I can't see a
cheaper and simplier option anywhere.

I hope this helps
Frank

I have an Australian friend who bought a C65 (C66 in US)which is
almost the same engine as C86 except doing borderless A4.

He is doing fine with EZ inks.
