Moving from CS to CS2 Problem!
2005-05-14 by Jeff Magidson
Hey list folks, sorry if this is off topic but perhaps it is not? I have been using Photoshop CS since it came out to work with RAW files from my Canon 10D with great success. I recently downloaded the trial version of CS2. When I open up RAW files that I have previously worked with in CS1 with the CS2 RAW converter using existing .XMP sidecar files the images are rendering in the RAW converter with a LOT more contrast and saturation. All the numbers in the slider settings are exactly the same as in the original CS1 RAW converter. As an experiment I have even opened the same file simultaneously in both CS1 and CS2 RAW converter to confirm this. Does anyone know what is going on here? If I did want to upgrade to CS2 as things stand, all my previous RAW settings would be useless! As a side note... If I open the same PSD file in CS1 and CS2 they render exactly the same, so the difference is definitely in how the new CS2 RAW converter is rendering the RAW file. Thanks in advance for any thoughts! - Jeff
