elephants Moab kayenta entrada kokopelli

A Moab dealer saidlast year that he'd learned "flaking" came from packaging without adequate vacuuming after cutting: cutting dust. This may have been dealt with. I'd just started using Entrada Natural 300gsm because I was enthusiastic about Nick Brandt's prints..famous dusty elephant... http://www.nickbrandt.com/ http://www.bowhaus.com/news/brandt.htm Cutting dust caused the alleged "flaking". Users like me had printed right over the dust, which then fell off revealing white. Easy fix (I still have some of that lot): dust the paper with a can of air before inserting it in the printer. A brush or rag isn't as effective. Kayenta may have had the same problem, but I've not experienced that with Kayenta 5X7 folded notcards. Try dusting your paper with air before printing if it "flakes." Moab reportedly dealt with this, but I'd first test a fresh batch from a high volume dealer if I intended to do high production. I've had no "flakes" with my own Kayenta. Maybe no paper actually "flakes"...maybe this just comes from printing over dust. I happen to like another Moab paper for the rare occasion that I actually want glossy: Kokopelli. Kokopelli with Epson OEM pigs makes a high gloss in black-only or QTR sepia with almost no evidence of bronzing (you can see a little with certain light at oblique angles...I have to work to see it). Give it a try: maybe you won't be so eager to retire your 2200 :-) Djon
