MIS Ink set leaking

MIS Ink set leaking

2005-05-23 by richmellor1

Hi everyone -

I just purchased the MIS ink set for a C-86. I'm having an identical
problem with the ink cartridge leaking. The refills were bought from
Hong Kong - spongeless carts for a C-86. I first thought this was the
fault of the carts, but as others are having the same problem, I wonder
if this might be a bad batch of ink from MIS.

When I swap out the cartirge with an Epson version, everything works
fine.

Why would it be the ink?

It's the terrible Chineese qc of the carts.

If China's going to make it, they need to step up the quality like the
Japaneese did starting in the 70's.

I'm sure the problem is with your cart.

on the hong kong spongless carts. tested with epson carts perfect
nozzle check. then inserted spongless carts with mis ink. perfect
nozzle check. printed [10] photos on kirkland paper. so far prints
are the best B&W photos that ever came out of my printer.will keep
testing and advise.

Re: MIS Ink set leaking

There was a horrible leaking problem with the Epson 10K replacement carts
made in China. This situation ruined a few big printers from what I've heard
and frustrated a lot of other people. All these companies bought the carts from
the same outfit in China apparently, and they used junk for glue. All they
needed was decent glue and they didn't have it. I don't know if this situation
has been resolved or not but it has kept me from using Media Street or MIS
inks for this printer because of this dreadful cart situation. They think it has
been resolved but even the ink companies themselves don't know if they
should trust their own suppliers. So, where does that leave us?

When it cost a couple of grand to replace heads in a big machine it is not
worth the risk. Mis and these other companies better get their act together fast
or the new Epson machines will win out, sadly enough. Their inks may be
expensive alright, but at least they don't leak.
