which epson paper with 4800?

which epson paper with 4800?

2005-06-13 by gradyvillejb

Just got my 4800, arrived on a wooden palette - wife freaked because
the box was so
huge! Anyway, what do you guys think of the somerset velvet papers or
the ultra smooth
fine art? Do you have any other recommendations? I really liked the
velvet fine art, but it
only comes in 13x19 sheets. I want to do 17" wide b&w prints...

Don't get rid of the box and palette.

Try a sample pack of the Hahnemuhle papers, and also Innova papers.
Hawk Mountain has some good papers too. Moab and Red River have a
couple that are good too.

You can get papers that are cut from larger rolls at

Incase you need to send it for service, or decide to sell it. A lot
of people found out that the 4000 did not make it through shipping if
the store took it off the palette. At least save it for a couple
months to make sure everything works OK.

If the packaging is the same as the UK you don't need the palette (mine
never came with one) just the box which is easily lifted by two people using
the handles provided.
