C86 carts problem... again....

C86 carts problem... again....

2005-06-13 by bjornaagedk

I I have been using C86 with MIS EZN/EZW inks for some time now and am very happy
with the
output quality from this simple setup.

I just think that the C86 printhead could be more stable. Even if I have maked
several perfect
prints, when I start the printer next day some of the print nozzles could be
blocked.

And cleaning the printhead only makes things worse with the C86 is my opinion.

Another serious problem is that the black cartridge (i use the high capacity
cart) suddenly can
start to drip ink on the paper surface.
I have seen this problem with 2 black carts now.

Anyone who has the same experience with C86 and knows how to solve the
problems??

I had some clogging problems, and then some "just wait a day and it's all
better" problems when I setup a C86 vs. an old C84. C86 has been doing
well since, but I try to make a few prints every week even if I'm not in
"printing mode."

But nothing quite like this. I've just ordered a few new black carts, so
I'll see how they install and work.

I have had my 2200 poop a bunch of (what looks like) black ink on a print,
but a 2nd print and the problem just went away.

Diagnosing printer problems is pretty much a black art. Someone should
post a big web site called "What you *really* need to know about how
your printer works and how to fix it yourself." That would be a godsend
(but alot of work, I guess).

Best of luck.

Re: [Digital BW] C86 carts problem... again....

2005-06-13 by Daniel Ridings

I guess I've been lucky. I've never had problems with the nozzles.
I've been using the CFS system for about 6 months now.

When I travel for an extended period of time I ask my wife to turn the
printer on and off once a day. This puts it through a cleaning cycle,
I think. Doing this days in a row can result in an excess of ink that
ruins the first print or two when I come home, but by the time I get
to the third print things are back in order again. I just print out a
couple of test pages to get things going again.
