Digital BW, The Print

Hawk Mountain Paper lists proofing papers for several
of their quality papers, the prices are very
attractive and competative with EEM which is what I
usually print on (for economic reasons).  The caveat
is that there are MINUTE surface imperfections.  Has
anyone had any experience with these proofing papers? 
Have any idea of just how noticeable these
imperfections are?  Gotta make my social security
check go as far as possible.  I am currently using an
Epson 900 Photo (uses the same inkset as 1280) and
using the OEM ink that came with the printer, but soon
I will be moving my eboni cart from my deceased 1280. 
Any advice is appreciated.
