overspray problem

overspray problem

2005-08-02 by jimpegoda

Hello,
I've been getting an erratic overspray of ink on the edge of my
prints
(and within sometimes). I'm using an Epson 1280 with MIS UT2 inks and
spongeless carts. To help clean the nozzles I soaked some sheets in
99% isopropyl alcohol and printed some purge patterns, this helped
for
about two prints and now the overspray is back. I thought it was
isolated to my 1280 but I just made a color print on my 2200 and
noticed some overspray too. Does anyone have any experience with this
troubling problem I searched the archives without any luck.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: [Digital BW] overspray problem

I am experiencing the same problem on my 2200. It
seems to be related to 8X10's which I created by
cutting down some 13X19 sheets of thick matte paper
such as Hawk Mountain Condor and Merlin and with Moab
Entrada. I don't notice it on pre-cut i.e. out of the
box 8X11's of RC papers e.g. Premium Luster and
Premium Semi-matte.

Anybody have a suggested fix?
