In general, I'm a supporter of buying as much as you can locally. Here's

So, I always try to buy locally first. If I can't find it with a local
independent merchant, I'll try a national chain. If I can't find it
there, I'll buy off the 'net.
But when the local merchant tries to screw me, like your local photo
store is clearly trying to do, I've got little sympathy. I guess one of
those "bad customers" who think loyalty should extend both ways. It's
amazing to me that some merchants will shoot themselves in the foot like
this.
