Kayenta Update - Good News

Kayenta Update - Good News

2005-08-21 by Clayton Jones

Hello All,

Update: (08/20/05) Today I received word from Moab that they analyzed
and tested previous and current batches of Kayenta and indeed found
that batch BK5-056 is warmer and denser than normal. They are not
sure why it happened and will examine their test logs to try and find
out. The current batch now being produced is back to the normal cold
tone. The last of BK5-056 is gone from their warehouse but may still
be on vendor's shelves, so if this is important to you be sure to
insist on any batch number besides BK5-056.

Regards,
Clayton

Thanks, Clayton,

I expect my order for Kayenta A3 will arrive soon and I can check the
batch number.

Do I recall correctly that you developed a BO curve for use with
Eboni on an Epson 2200 before you and the machine parted company? If
so, could you post it or email it to me?

Thanks,

Colin

Good luck!

I was working on a QTR curve but never finished it. It was my first
one and had lots of mistakes I was trying to overcome when I swapped
the 2200 for the 2400. You wouldn't want to use it as a model to
follow, and with the (wrong) approach I was using it wouldn't work in
the latest version of QTR anyway. So I'm afraid there's nothing
useful in it.

Clayton

Thanks, Clayton,

I was hoping that this promising lead would work out, but never
mind. When QTR was mooted I was excited about the prospect but I
fear that all the complex posts that have arisen since, puts it
beyond the time and energy that I can set aside to do it,
particularly when I am happy with UT2 and BO with Eboni. In any
event I am using MIS's 7600 color pigment inkset rather than Epson's.
