Tutorial for QTR Create ICC Profile?

Re: [Digital BW] Tutorial for QTR Create ICC Profile?

Not sure but it is very simple (at least for a Mac):

1. Print a 21/51 step wedge using the workflow you prefer (QTR, Epson Adv
B&W)
2. Read the step wedge with an EyeOne spectrophotometer and MeasureTool
which is part of the Gretag Macbeth PM 5 download (it works fully even if
you don't own PM 5)
3. Save the MT results
4. Drag the saved MT results text file to the QTR Create ICC application
icon and drop

QTR Create ICC takes the results and creates two files: the ICC file and an
output file text file which graphical shows the Lab data. The ICC profile
is applicable for that workflow/settings only. (In the above I mention
using an EyeOne and MT. You can use any measurement device and so long as
your output data is in the right format as mentioned in Roy's post
announcing the new version.) When printing, convert your document to this
ICC profile prior to or concurrent with sending the file to print. You can
soft proof in the same way you would for any colour ICC output in PS.

What EyeOne Device? was: Re: [Digital BW] Tutorial for QTR Create ICC Profile?

When folks refer to the i1 spectrophotometer, what device do
they mean. I have the relatively inexpensive EyeOne display
package I use to calibrate my monitor. Is this a device that will
do? Or are folks refering to some different device that may
come with the more expensive EyeOne packages?

The EyeOne spectrophotometer which is included in the EyeOne Photo package.
The device in the EyeOne Display package can not read reflective data.
