"Digital negatives" on the C86?

"Digital negatives" on the C86?

2005-10-12 by Jordan Wosnick

Hi all,

I've been wanting to try making some cyanotypes or kallitypes of some
of my images. The most sensible way for me to do this would be by
printing "digital negatives" on transparency "paper". I know about
Burkholder's book (though I haven't yet read it), but has anyone tried
doing this kind of work on an Epson C86? I'm using the MIS EZ inkset
(matte version with Eboni ink).

Many thanks in advance

Jordan

Jordan: I am doing almost the same thing except making platinum prints. The control over the neg is much greater than regukar processing. I am doing 8x10 and 11x14. I did use burk's book and several articles I found. Bruce Cohen

Hi Bruce -- The control is great, but for me the even bigger advantage
is being able to produce positives larger than 35mm and 6x7. :)

Are you using the C86 with MIS inks to make the digital negs? What
brand of transparency film are you using?
