Hand tinting

2005-10-14 by catherine1966_02130

Has anyone tried hand tinting any of the prints they've made digitally
(carbon on matte paper)with oils and pencils, as you would a silver
gelatin print? Is this out of the question or is it feasible with
comparable results? Thanks, Catherine

Catherine:

Yes

Google an artist named Silvia Pecota.

Silvia is a great photographer, but she also does hand colouring of her
Epson 2200 prints. It is some kind of pencil I think. She prints on
Crescent matte papers. I saw her in person once, doing this for a
Camera Conference. Epson and Crescent were big advertisers there.
