AZ,
I have an R800 that I bought primarily for color work. The latest
version of QTR produces a reasonable B&W print on the 800, but the
choices as to papers and tones are limited. Most of the time, I feel
that I get a better print from my 1280 with UT2 inks and the Roark
curves. However, there are times when I like the 800/QTR print
better.
Given the limitations, however, it would not be my first choice for a
B&W printer. It does do a remarkable job with color prints,
especially if you use the profiles that Epson provides.
