Exhibition print question

Exhibition print question

2005-11-03 by Tim Timmermans

I have a show coming up and I wanted to try something different. I am
creating my prints with a black frame around them. What I mean is I am
framing them via photoshop so that it is part of the print.

Now, I can either sign the back of the print or I can sign the front
of the print but it would have to be done in white, silver or gold to
be seen.

Has anyone here ever used these gold or silver inked pens on their
prints before? I'm using a standard epson inkset and Premium Glossy
Photo Paper on a 1280. (The bronzing on my 2200 is driving me nuts
even with the spray)

I'm concerned about bleeding or fading of the signature.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks, Tim

What kind of paper should I use to put between inkjet prints being kept in
an archival print storage box?

Also, are they any cheaper sources for print storage boxes than Light
Impressions?

Thanks much,

Arthur

I haven't used the below but was recommended a while ago:

Here is another link from Light Impressions:

They seem to recommend unbuffered paper for all but silver gelatin
prints. The Renaissance is unbuffered, the Apollo buffered. Both come
in "paper" and "tissue." Although it is a little heavier, I use the
(Renaissance) paper because it is easier to handle than the tissue.
These papers now also come in 13 x 19. The buffering issue is
something that could use clarification, but since the papers I use are
acid free, I thought the unbuffered a safer bet.

Hi Arthur

Any art supply store and even Office Depot has Clearprint (brand)
drafting/engineering veluum. Archival quality, 100% Acid free, here is
link to specs:

Got to be less expensive than the speciality suppliers.

Epson 3000 printer for sale, UT-FS inks, in Maine

2010-12-08 by Arthur Fink

This Epson 3000 printer has a great history ... used to belong to
Paul Roark himself. I enjoyed doing lots of black and white prints
with it, using Piezeography software, but now my black and white
prints are coming off an Epson 3800.

It's in Portland Maine (actually Peaks Island), and I don't believe
it's worth the effort or cost to ship. Contact me if interested -
af@..., or cell # 207.615.5722.
