Epsons Velvet Art Paper users?

Epsons Velvet Art Paper users?

2005-11-08 by Jim Panzer

Hi all, I just received my first box of Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper. I
wanted to see if anyone here has any actual experience with this paper
before I start blowing through it. Mostly, I wonder if I should use the
matte black in me R2400 or the photo black. It's technically a matte paper
so I assuming the matte black. Anyway, any tips or suggestions would be
appreciated, thanks all!

Jim

Yes, use MK ink. It's an excellent paper and one the top dmax ones of
all matte papers. It does tend to flake a bit, so it needs a firm
wipe with a soft cloth (I also give it a shot of compressed air).

Regards,
Clayton

Direct that question to Louis Dina.

I believe that is Louis' favorite matte paper.

Epson VFA is a nice paper, and has excellent color gamut and Dmax,
better than most I have tried. You have to like the surface texture,
and there are many attractive paper choices out there. VFA needs to
be handled carefully before and after printing to prevent scuffing,
etc. Best mounted behind glass.

I'd definitely use the Matte Black ink. Photo black will be weak in
comparison, just like on most matte fine art papers.
