Hi all, I seem to remember reading here some time ago that the basic setup EZ-N inks for the C86 are the same ink for the C,M, and Y inks. Can anyone confirm if that is correct? I was using this logic and filling the C, M, and Y carts with Y. Then for some reason I thought maybe I was mistaken and went back to using the appropriate color in each cart. Haven't noticed any difference in the tone of the prints, so hope my assumption was correct. Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill C, M and Y are indeed the same. I heard this straight from the MIS people. As other have confirmed, the C, M and Y of EZ inks are the same ink. Remember that you can use this to your advantage in tuning the tone of your output from neutral to warm by judicious placement of cartridges. For example, neutral in K, C and M with warm in the Y position gives results just slightly warmer than the straight neutral setup, warm in M is slightly warmer yet, and warm in M and Y warmer still. I believe Paul Roark posted a chart someplace with the mix-&-match progression from pure neutral to pure warm. Cheers, Kip bvaughn4 wrote:

So, to have a complete stock of bulk ink for neutral and warm printing on matte paper on a C86, one really only needs three bottles of ink (Eboni, C-or-M-or-Y Warm, and C-or-M-or-Y Neutral). Is that correct? Mitch

Is that correct? Yes, and 7 empty carts. 1 for the K and 2 each CM&Y. That's what I do. Lee -- Lee Hiers, AA4GA "Have Dobro Will Travel"
