CS2 Merge to HDR B&W Prints

2005-11-30 by mxgo95747

I have tried using the the CS2 "merge to HDR" procedure and both the prints and the screen
images come out rather flat. I, also, notice that the final merged image comes out at 72 ppi,
while I started with all images at 360 ppi.

I researched the archives and I did not note that any body with happy with their results.

There is the Photomatix software, at http://www.hdrsoft.com/ that says that images from
their software does not have the same problem. Has anybody used it, is so how are the
prints?

Not surprising. The point of HDR is to squeeze a wide dynamic range into the
narrower one that you can actually see on the screen or in a print. In
general, you have to follow up by restoring local contrast, using tools like
wide diameter Unsharp Mask.

Meaningless numbers. Ignore them.
