Can one switch the 2200 back and forth between MIS B&W inks and the Epson color cartridges? Must one clean the heads? Or is it better to dedicate a printer to B&W only inks and use another for color prints? thanks, Jonathan

I believe it's OK to do that. I haven't tried it but folks here talk about it. Paul Roark, I think, suggests that the nozzle end of the cart be squirted with water so any remaining ink won't dry and also cover it with tape. Tom

Otherwise, the sponge saturates, and ink wicks up the piezo heads and contaminates the first pritn or two you run after the printer has sat a half a day or so. You'll get traces of color in your B&W, or traces of black in your colors. I just brought a third Epson 2200 online today. This basement is getting cluttered. When I finally order my 9800, I'm going to really have to rearrange. I'm thinking all color and larger B&W off the 9800, B&W up to 13x19 on the 2200 with a 6 dilution ink set, and an Epson 1800 dedicated to digital negatives up to 13x19.
