Sure haven't but it doesn't surprise me since they dominated offset inks for so long. Is Epson suing them yet? john --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "lulalake_1999" <lulalake_1999@...> wrote:

I don't see inks for the 1800 or 2400. Wonder why they haven't kept up.... Howard --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "lulalake_1999" <lulalake_1999@...> wrote:

They have them for lots of other printer Mfg's also. They have such a respected and depthy name I can't help but to be interested. I don't see anything about their inks on Wilhelm's site, some stuff about their color management gear but that's about it. Jules

I had good experience with the inks. Got a test/starter kit 220ml for my 7000 at eBay and got it to work terrific with my Studioprint RiP. The icc profiles provided are not very good, so you will have to make your own. Photoshop was good as well. I was on my way to sell the printer, but now it is revamped and it is making money again. I have tested many different inks, and these where among the better ones. I've actually recently come to terms with the color management on the 2200 and have been doing OK with it. This stuff looks interesting, I just wish I had some archival data on the inks. Thanks again Jules

BTW I had to register with their web site to get these profiles. So I'd take their marketing spiel about gamut with a pinch of salt. If anybody on this list has made profiles with these inks maybe they can do some 3D gamut comparisons; maybe the Pantone profiles didn't do justice to the inks. BTW I think it's great that Pantone are joining the third party inks market, so I'm not trying to be negative about them here, just querying their gamut claims. Regards, Alan

Alan, here are some screen shots of Colorthink Graphs of an icc profile made on iOne equipment, on Pallida Canvas matte WR. I hope you find this helpful. I have larger profiles made on my Color GPS that I can send later. Pantone, as an ink manufacturer, never dominated Offset printing. They provide the Pantone matching system which is a series of books and products that standardize color matching. It was this system that they are dominant, even today. Their inks were made by an established ink company and rebranded with their labels. Sorry.
