Someone had asked about "oily looking" prints on EEM, using an Epson R1800 printer. At 08:53 AM 3/6/2006, Olivier replied: >This can only be fixed by >setting in the driver another media type, spraying less ink or a >linearization including ink limit setting. Not feasible on a 1800 My thought: this sounds like bronzing, which I think is what Olivier is saying also. But I'm pretty sure that it could be remedied using the 1800. The first thing I'd try is to use a different paper setting, such as setting the printer driver to "PGPP" or even to "glossy film" and then printing on EEM. That should help a lot. Also - my 1800 doesn't do this when I print B&W. Does this bronzing also occur when making color prints on EEM? Has the inkset been changed in order to print the B&Ws (using an aftermarket K3 set or a home-grown K4 or similar inkset for example)?. I would also consider the possibility that the OP's sample of the R1800 needs adjusting. But first I'd try different settings.
