Hello Clayton,

I was hoping you might be able to help me out. I'm having some problems
setting up my R2400 for printiing as you describe on your site in the
article "A Simple Approach to the Epson R2400".

I'm using the new driver from Epson for Intel Macs. I'm not sure if that is
relevent, just throwing it in.

I have two problems. First, in the media type drop down, Velvet Fine Art,
Watercolor Paper, and Ultrasmooth are grayed out for some reason, so I can't
choose VFA.

The second problem is I don't know where to make the paper size settings you
detail (Quarter sheet) - is this in the Paper handling drop down?

And finally, the third problem is I can't seem to find the ABW settings for
Tone and Horizontal/Vertical color values. I do see a Color Toning
drop-down, but it is only allowing me to select Neutral, Cool, Warm & Sepia.
The last choice (Fine Adjustment) is grayed out.

Any help is appreciated...thanks a lot

Guhan

Hello Guhan,

This might be caused by having PK ink (for glossy papers) installed.
The above papers are matte surface and require the MK ink cart.

Choose "User Defined" in the paper size pick list. This will open a
window to define a custom size. This is explained in detail in the
article in item #3 under "Driver Settings".

"Color Toning" should be ignored, as explained in item #6. Just after
item #7 it says "ABW Settings - Click the Settings button"

The "Settings" button goes to the ABW settings page. Then follow the
directions in items # 8 and 9.

That should do it. I think the main thing is to make sure the MK ink
is installed. The printer knows which one is there and allows only
appropriate papers to be selected. Sometimes I think they are too
smart, but that's another story <g>.

Regards,
Clayton

Some times, after changing from black inks (mK and pK, you have to go to "Printer Utility"
and click on the mK or pk cartridge to get it to register correctly. Once or twice, I have had
to turn off and turn on the printer to get it to register the correct black ink.

I downloaded this virus. Do not open it. Sorry.

I got it through another group, and it was sent to my whole mailing list!
