Raster Image Processor (or Program) It's a program that "tells" the printer what to do with the data that comes from the computer - e.g. which ink, how much ink, where, and with what dither pattern, etc., etc...in essence, and over-siplified by me, a specialized driver for the printer. Yes,different. These (e.g. QTR = QuadToneRip) are separate programs. The ABW is, again, to oversimplify, a very specialized B&W RIP contained within, or bundled with the Epson driver for the 2400. --- Mel Lammers <mslammers@...> wrote: > So it is different than the ICC Profiles I use on my > Epson 2400? > > > > Mel > > =^..^= > > Visit My Photosite > > http://www.mslammers.smugmug.com > > _____ > > From: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > [mailto:DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com] > On Behalf Of > mjvendrell2 > Sent: Sunday, March 26, 2006 2:26 PM > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Digital BW] Re: Medium Newbie on > Printing-What is RIP > > > > Raster Image Processor (or Program) > > It's a program that "tells" the printer what to do > with the data that > comes from the computer - e.g. which ink, how much > ink, where, and > with what dither pattern, etc., etc...in essence, > and over-siplified > by me, a specialized driver for the printer. > > Michael Vendrell > > --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, > "Mel Lammers" > <mslammers@...> wrote: > > > > I looked for a set of terms in Files, but didn't > find one.
