R220 quick question

R220 quick question

2006-03-31 by brianechapman

Clayton mentions in one of the articles on his site that if you're
using the R220 for BO printing that it doesn't matter what cartridges
are left in the color slots. Does that mean that for BO printing I
can purchase only the Eboni cartridge from MIS (or whatever other
inkset) and then use the rest of the color cartridges that come with
the printer? Will the printer operate in BO mode without any of the
other cartridges installed?

Thanks!!

Brian

Yes.

No. There has to be something there, and whatever is there will
slowly get used up in cleaning cycles and will need to be replaced
periodically. Because of that I recommend getting the entire R2
inkset (which uses Eboni). That will give you both BO and full ink
printing.

Put aside the OEM carts unopened in case you ever decide to sell the
printer or send it for repair.

Regards,
Clayton

Thanks Clayton!! I actually just purchased the 220 from B&H with
the $50 dollar rebate! I couldn't say no for $29. Anyway, I'll be
ordering the inks pretty soon.

Thanks again for the info and all the great articles.

Brian

The rebate requires a computer purchase, right?
