Fwd: [Digital BW] Interesting comment re UV filtering

Yes. Apparently Trueview is being withdrawn from the UK. I have not heard
of Denton Vacuum. Schott of Germany have a UV water white glass product
called Miroguard Plus. To be honest I suspect the UV filtering aspects are
a little over-rated and so issues such as clarity and colour versus weight
and shatter proofing (safety) are likely of more practical importance,
together with price considerations.

BTW does anyone know of a UK supplier for CYRO Acrylic? I have only seen
this in the US. Glass & Mirror stock a brand of acrylic glazing called
Artshield (clear £49.50 +Vat /m2, diffused £54.50, UV £75). They simply
describe this as "our OUTSTANDING range of Artshield scratch resistant
acrylic". As I mentioned earlier they were also distributors of TruVue
glass and acrylic glazing but they have told me that TruVue is being
withdrawn from the UK. Perhaps because of price. Here are the prices for
the TruVue acrylic products ("the lowest reflectance, highest light
transmission acrylic available" according to G&M): TruVue AR Acrylic £225 +
Vat /m2, AR Acrylic UV £235...
