Hey, I've got a problem and hope someone can help. I just received my MIS UT-R2 inks and R220 printer. I followed the installation instructions but when I closed the ink cover after installing the R2 inks - nothing happened. The power light contined flashing and the red ink light was solid. It seems to me the most likely thing is that the printer doesn't recognize the cartridges. I haven't yet tried it with the epson cartridges because I wanted to sell them... Anyone got any ideas? Turn the printer off, and then back on. If you get the message that a cart is not installed, it is not making correct contact with the chip. A gentle cleaning of the chip made some difference. Or, remove and reinsert the cart.
If you get the message that it doesn't recognize the cart type, it will probably print anyway.
I had similar problems. Removing and reseating the carts helped in some cases. In the end, it all works fine.

The problem is the Yellow cartridge (I sacraficed the Epson inks...) - the printer operates correctly with the MIS cartridges in all positions except for Yellow. If it's most likely the chip I can swap out the chip on the epson cartridge with the MIS cartridge...it doesn't look that difficult...has anyone done this? Is there any other reason why the cartridge wouldn't work? And yes, I also set the printer up with the MIS B&W cartridges. Everything went smoothly. Perhaps you might want to call MIS. Maybe they will swap your yellow cartridge. Switching the chip does sound like an idea, have you done this before? Good Luck Mike

Firstly, the BO option works and as expected produces excellent results - thanks to everyone who has published so much helpful info!!! Mike, I'll give MIS a call this morning - from what I've read on their support site, etc, the problem is almost certainly the chip. I'll give a couple other things a try (shim the cartridge) to see if I can get the chip to work otherwise I'll probably try replacing it. Thanks!
