I use EPSM on my 4800, and a friend asked me if she could use it on her 2400. I told her to by the 17 x 22 sheets, cut them to size, and use the scrap for test prints. But I believe the 2400 ABW print dialog does not allow EPSM to be selected as the media choice. What is the work around here for those of you printing on this paper with the 2400?

Just guessing here, as I have the 4800, but I would try the "premium luster" setting as they seem to be similar. I also use the EPSM, but have found an alternate with the same surface as EPSM, which is a hard thing to find. Everyone, it seems has a "luster" or "pearl" surface, but not the semi matte. I just received my order today, and was VERY interested to see if what I ordered matched the swatch sample I got. I was not disappointed! I won't be able to try it out for a couple of days so I can't say for sure how it will print, but I put a sheet of it next to the EPSM and couldn't tell them apart. If your interested, let me know. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "rgoldman2" <rgoldman@...> wrote: > > I use EPSM on my 4800, and a friend asked me if she could use it on > her 2400. I could not get that paper to work on my 2400. Gave me fits. Epson told me it's 'incompatible'. Howard --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Keith R." <kjrslr@...> wrote:

My guess is that it is incompatible because that it only comes in 17x22 sheets or rolls 16" and wider. If you were to put in the Epson profile for the semi matte(if you could even get it), the print driver for the 2400 would say that it is incompatible because it knows that profile is for the X800 printers. That is why I suggested using the "premium luster" profile. Or, if you can, make your own profile. What I ordered from Hawk Mountain looks IDENTICAL to the epson semi matte,(at a GREAT price) so much so that I ordered 3 different sizes. One of which is 13x19. You can't do that with the epson! Although I haven't had a chance to print anything yet(the order just came today), but when I do, I'm going to do a color and a B&W using the epson profiles to see how close they come to the previous ones done on EPSM. After that I intend to make my own profiles and utilize QTR for B&W. And I did make the B&W(on EPSM) with epsons' ABW KeithR --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "how786" <how786@...> wrote: > > I could not get that paper to work on my 2400. I've use the 'Premium Semi-Gloss' setting on my R2400 (with ABW) on Epson Premium Semi-Matte with good results. -Peter

I'm also using the Premium Semi-Gloss setting on my 2400 with excellent results (with cut sheets purchased from Exim Vaios). Harry
