Did anyone get SR or Innova F-Type paper from shadesofpaper in last month?

Did anyone get SR or Innova F-Type paper from shadesofpaper in last month?

2006-07-17 by santonov2you

To try it out, I ordered one box of each paper more than month ago and
still have no idea what is going on with my order. During this time
both papers were in and out of stock in shadesofpaper, but I got no
feedback about my order or about when it will be shipped. Mr. Doyle is
probably not aware of Mail Order Rule -- if order cannot be shipped in
30 days, supplier have to contact the customer and ask, if the order
should be canceled.
I understand that both those papers are overhyped and in short supply,
but I cannot accept very poor customer service from shadesofpaper --
no order confirmation, no shipping info, no feedback whatsoever. The
only positive moment is that Mr. Doyle didn't charge my credit card
yet.

Thanks,
Sergei

I've had prompt and positive results in buying both Innova Type F and
Crane Silver Rag from ShadesofPaper within the prior 4 weeks. A
confirming e-mail arrived within minutes and another when Doyle had
shipped the goods. Perhaps you didn't get *all* the web-site-order
buttons *pushed*. I sometimes don't notice a needed *confirm* button
or some such. My shipments (to USA) arrived within 4 days and the
good packaging kept the merchandise intact.

Did you try to make another contact with them? Their phone number is on the
home page. I received an order within the last month and have been very
satisfied with their customer service. Perhaps, like Will suggests,
something happened and the order never got to them.

"Mr. Doyle is probably not aware of Mail Order Rule --" nor is he probably aware of your order since your experience doesn't mirror the general concensus of those who do business with Shades of Paper/ Jim Doyle. Give him a call and get to the bottom of it.

I have dealt with Shades of Paper and Jim has ALWAYS been very
responsive. I think it's safe to assume he never got your order.
Try calling him.

Hi

Just to add me two cents...I recently placed and received two orders in addition to getting a very quick email response for a question that I asked. I would email or call him. I have been very happy with the service.

  Regards

  Michael

Yea, I agree with Greg 100%. Jim always gets back to me the same day
through email as to availablility. If he doesn't have something
rather than just letting me guess or wait like most of the other
suppliers he shoots me an emal. It isn't easy juggling all these
suppliers and their warehouse people. From past experience I now how
much time this can take!

I just received both a roll of the Silver Rag and the Innova F gloss
in sheets from him and I'll tell you he is doing the best he can to
keep this supply running. The fact is these products are new and the
distributors are not quite up to filling the demand at all times in
all the sizes. But they are starting to catch up. This has nothing to
do with Shades Of Paper but rather the production levels of all these
new glossy fiber products. I'm just glad they exist at all.

John

I cleared out this little incident with Jim. Since there is a lot of
his customers here, you probably will be interested to know, what is
happened.
1. I ordered one box of letter size of two the most hot items.
ShadesOfPaper fills the order when BOTH (or may be ALL) items are in
stock. I suspect that before stashing the item for my order, Jim
filled the other ones, and I didn't get it during the whole month.
That's why I sent my question to this group.
2. You should monitor your orders yourselves. If shadesofpaper has
supply problems with your order, they didn't get to you asking what to
do with it. Jim admitted that he never was aware of 30 days rule. I
hope he will change this now.
3. PayPal confirmation IS the order confirmation. It is a bit unusual,
and I was confused. I asked Jim to place a bit of clarification on his
Web site.

I cancelled my order because it could take indefinite time to fill it -
- both papers are still in short supply.

Thanks everyone,
Sergei Antonov

Jim Doyle Is a Gem Of A Guy

2006-07-18 by Shilesh Jani

Always prompt, and on one occasion he had given me a verbal price
wrong. But he nontheless honored the quote even though he took a $60
hit on it. As Greg said I get emails from him late in the night. He is
even good to talk to on the phone.

Re: Jim Doyle Is a Gem Of A Guy

I'm pretty sure Jim's is a fairly small operation (?) And I KNOW he has
been absolutely snowed under with the demand for Silver Rag and Innova
Fibre (with Crane at least finding demand has far outstripped their
supply, these papers are so popular out of the starting gate). I'm sure
it's been more than crazy for him getting orders out of the door.

I know I kept bugging him for stuff constantly - and he always got back
to me.

I also know he shipped a roll right out that day Fedex to a colleague
in Madrid (who will probably not need to buy from him again...) who had
an important show days away and their paper supply dry up - he really
saved the day on that one.

And always he seems to get back to you promptly and in good humour.

I'd rather deal with Jim than half a dozen of the other bigger photo
and paper suppliers I have to deal with any day....
