Re: [Digital BW] i bought a 1280, read clayton and paul...now why don't I like my BO prints?

Good evening.... I am a 1280 (4) owner and am in love with BO printing. My first thought reading your post is that perhaps you are not printing large enough images. These BO images are crisp and clear and wonderful. On the other hand...small should be great too...so I'm not sure what I'm thinking. My workflow is very basic. I use PhotoShop CS and print on EEM and Red River Polar Matte using MIS archival inks. To convert an image to B/W I sometimes don't...just print the color image BO. And sometimes I use the Saturation tool and remove all color. And sometimes I use the Converter. Are you using your histogram? Are your images 'flat' or do they use the full range from black to white? Too bad you are having problems. Keep at it. I hope you figure it out because BO is great. -Jim Coffee-

I figure the 1280 is as easy a place to start as any. the r220 and others are smaller, so I can use th 1280 for larger color if need be. I went with eboni matte cartridge for BO for now. I have tried many prints on EEM at 4" (quarter size). I am not in awe. I have downloaded Pauls curves, and ICC's but these are for UT2 not BO right? I have tried other curves for eboni only, followed workflow for RGB tweaks to the color matrix, hue and altered when I convert to greyscale in the process. So, for those not moving on to UT-3D and the 2400...what is your workflow? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
