Epson 2100 giving only big smudges through Epson driver

Hi everyone, strange problem with my Epson 2100. I was about to print some colour images for someone and nozzle checks showed a blocked light magenta. 5 cleaning cycles didn't do it so I injected a small amount of Windex and left it during the day. Came back in the evening, still had a bad nozzle check but it cleared with two cleaning cycles and I thought I was in business. I printed one of the images - this series happens to be in colour and I am using MISPRO inks - and it came out more or less OK but had some pizza wheel tracks and one think line down the middle of the print where no ink was laid. The light magenta light was also blinking indicating the cartridge was empty (despite it being a newly placed MIS cart with chip reset). So I tossed the A3+ sheet of FineArt Pearl :~( reinstalled another light magenta cartridge and started to do nozzle checks with plain paper. To my great surprise all I get now whenever I try to print ANYTHING through the Epson print driver are smudges measuring half an inch high or so and running the length of what I print. It looks as if every ink cartridge is simply bleeding onto the paper. The strange thing is if I print something through QTR I get the image appearing more or less normally plus at this point some fine lines of colour that I hope or guess are residual from my huge ink smudges. So it looks as if the problem only happens if the printer is being driven through the Epson driver. As a result I uninstalled an reinstalled the printer and driver software but unfortunately no change. Anyone has any ideas on this? I am stumped. David Meddings
