New resource book

New resource book

2006-09-11 by BKPhoto@aol.com

Dear List-

I hope I'm not stretching list etiquette too far by announcing the publication of my book, The Photographer's Guide to the Digital Darkroom (Allworth Press). It's intended to bridge the gap between film-based/wet darkroom photography and digital capture/digital darkroom practices. I'm hoping that some of you will find it a useful resource.

I'll take the opportunity to thank Paul Roark, who contributed to the project, and Abha Sharma (some of you may know Prof. Sharma's from his posts on the ColorSync list or from his excellent book on color management).

If anyone has questions about the book, please feel free to contact me off-line. I'd especially like to correspond with educators teaching digital darkroom practices or struggling with creating new digital imaging curriculum.

i bought this book after reading a message bill sent to someone on the alternative mailing list.

As someone who is brought to their knees everyday with computers , i am finding it to be very helpful. Haven't finished reading the whole book but so far it makes a lot of sense to me .

  regards,
  ann

Ann-

Thanks for the plug! I'm grateful that you're finding The
Photographer's Guide to the Digital Darkroom helpful; if you have
questions about anything covered in the book, let me know off-line and
I'll do my best to follow-up.

I apologize for not responding sooner; my studio partner, Scott King,
and I attended the PMA show in Las Vegas over the weekend and I'm just
now working through emails.
