I agree with Clayton. I would start by using and understanding their 
software. It works very well. Once you see what the printer can do, then you can try 
the different rips and alternative methods. This printer can make excellent 
Black & White prints, right out of the box. I do use MIS inks and love them. The 
spongeless cartridges are a great way to save a ton on the ink.
